ROMANCE/SHIPPING: Unlikely - for canon reasons, this would be a bittersweet (emphasis on bitter) experience. If it comes up, though, and you don't mind playing something kinda shitty, let's talk about it! Also keep in mind that she is 17 for the main brunt of the game; she's 20 in the epilogue section. I took her from this ending for characterization reasons, but it is a post-game state if this is a dealbreaker for you.

FIGHTING: I personally really don't like writing combat threads that much, especially 1-on-1 combat, so I would love it if we could abbreviate the actual combat or do something outside the box with it.

Kainé is not very nice! She has a really filthy mouth, is aloof and aggressive, and spent a significant portion of her life basically being addicted to killing. And she still does an awful lot of killing to cope! She might have a soft spot, but getting there is not for everyone nor is it a privilege everyone receives. In short, I understand if you prefer not to interact with her.

Relevant content warnings for Kainé's backstory and the general plot of NieR include: suicide/al ideation, endosexism/transphobia, mass murder, human experimentation, child death, loss of autonomy, terminal illness, the eradication of the human race, disfigurement and limb loss, and lots and lots of cursing.

Finally, she is from the very end of the game. Luckily, Kainé doesn't say shit about shit most of the time! Most of the topics listed above won't come up, but she does have a lot of internalized self-hatred that may blossom from them and spoiler-related reasons. Some spoilers for the game and the franchise as a whole may come up.
